Our Crescent College of Education for Women was established in the year 2005 by our beloved Vappa, ALHAJ B. S.ABDUR RAHMAN. It was established in a spacious area of 7.24 acres at Seethakathi Nagar, Kallampatti, Chathrapatti Post, Madurai. The college was sponsored by All India Islamic Foundation, Chennai.
Our founder was a great Philanthropist who had inclination for public service especially for Women Education. He felt that education is the key that opens the solutions to the socio-economic problems of the society. Hence he founded many educational institutions especially for women. Through the educational institutions he carried out all his educational and literary activities.
In 2005, the college was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and was started with sanctioned strength of 100 students.
From 2008 – 2009 onwards the college was affiliated to TamilNadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
The college was approved by NCTE on 18th November, 2005.
Crescent College of Education for Women lives up to the noble vision of its founder who strongly believes in the up-lift of women through education. We strive to achieve the goal by preparing the students to meet the challenges they face in the 21st century. We believe, it is important to provide education that focuses on the overall development of human personality. Guided by this principle, we prepare our students not only for academic success but also for life. So we have shifted “the focus of educational activity from teaching to learning; skills to thinking; content to process and teacher instruction to student demonstration”.
